Walnut has proudly operated its own school district for the past 134 years, and it is a very important part of the town’s economic foundation.
The Friends of Walnut Community School is now in its third year.
Our goal is To help keep a quality K-12 school in Walnut. Click here to begin learning the many benefits of small schools.
The Friends group would like to help stabilize our enrollment, and assist the school financially as much as possible. Friends consists of parents, teachers, alumni and other concerned citizens. Membership is open to anyone, and there are no dues.
Thanks to the generosity of people like you, and the hard work put in by all our volunteers, the Friends group (and before it the Dale Lynch Alumni Committee) has now raised over $102,000 for the benefit of WCS, not including scholarships!
These funds have been used to improve the facility, buy equipment, and assist with programs for the students and teachers.
However, our work is not finished. In order to continue to fund scholarships, improve our school, and fund extra-curricular activities for the students we need your help.
